DRONE AGRICULTURE TECHNOLOGY COURSE OUTLINE

​

The Drone program prepares students to learn how to get weather condition information. How to fly and navigate through unrestricted and restricted airspace. How to be the pilot in command. How to collect information that can assist the farmer in measuring acreage,  and using various planting styles. The students will learn how to successfully use computer and cellular apps that pertain to the drone safety of pilot equipment and crew. This program can lead to careers in precision agriculture, maintenance, unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) pilot, drone pilot aviation,  real estate photography, aviation safety inspection and insurance property inspection. This program will lead to a possible Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) Part 107 Drone Certification.

At the conclusion of this course, the student will have basic learning outcomes in the following areas:

  1. Knowledge of FAA Part 107 drone certification requirements.

  2. Knowledge of how to provide professional drone services.

  3. Understanding the anatomy of a drone.

  4. How to fly a drone in the field.

  5. Understanding of UAV technology.

  6. Understanding how to plan a UAV flight.

  7. Flight safety and assessment of weather conditions.

  8. How to take aerial photography and videography.

  9. How to get a job as a drone operator.

  10. How to start your own business as a drone operator.
